Chez Janou

Where Do i even begin?!?!?!??!

I am so passionate about my love for Chez Janou… it is going to be my first stop on every future trip to Paris! The vibes are amazing here. You walk by and it looks like a Parisian postcard. It is a French Provencal restaurant, with the menu written on a chalkboard and green checkered tables squeezed closely together and packed with locals. Both times I have come here, instead of making a reservation (which you can do by phone but often they do not pick up), I arrived with my group around 6:30 to wait outside for the first dinner seating at 7 PM. This technique worked both times to get a walk-in and sit outside. The fact that olives are already on the table before sitting down was an automatic win for me. And the food… omg just wow. I recommend sharing a bunch of plates- my top favorites were the mussels gratines, the raviolis, melon salad, and both times I went my friends and family enjoyed the entrecôte. And OF COURSE one cannot visit Chez Janou without ordering the mousse au chocolat for the table. They come out with a huge pot of it and keep scooping it onto your plate until you say stop. HEAVENLY.
