Mallorca, Spain
Euro Summer Pt. 1: Spain
This summer was definitely one for the books. After spending two weeks in New York for my summer program through the New York Times, I traveled to Mallorca, Spain and the Amalfi Coast of Italy with my family and our close family friends!
The first week of our European summer was spent in the most beautiful villa on Mallorca, part of the Balearic Islands off of Spain. Visiting Mallorca was very special to my family, because my parents came here on their honeymoon, and we returned for their 20 year wedding anniversary this summer! My favorite parts about Mallorca included the spectacular views, food, and people. What I loved most was that we hardly saw any American tourists, as Mallorca is where many Europeans vacation.
Our villa was located in Alcudia, and each day we ventured out to different parts of the island, visiting new beaches and exploring Mallorca. Nothing will ever beat the crystal blue waters, relaxing on the beach, and long late night dinners in the town. We also did some shopping at the markets and me, my sister, and our friends all found cute dresses, jewelry, and skirts! Another highlight of the trip was going to “Banana Club” for the night with Grace, Ava, and I and our dads! Such a fun and unforgettable night- and we were out until 3am!!
I love traveling because I love to experience new cultures through their unique food. On this trip, I found a new love for Spanish tapas, paella, and GAZPACHO!! Also, almost every restaurant gave delicious bread and fresh olives with aioli as a starter. Sooooo yummy!
I am so grateful to have visited Mallorca, and I hope to go back soon!! Mallorca was truly magical!!!
