Le Weekend à NYC
I just love NYC weekend trips!
I spent this past long weekend visiting my friend in NYC and we had the best time! I love that there is no shortage of activities and things to do in the city. And, we squeezed so much into 3 days, despite dealing with some rain! This trip, I wanted to return to some of my favorite spots but also explore new things, and especially get to know the LES area where she lives.
We walked all around vintage shopping, eating delish foods, and catching up! This was such a nice refresh and city change from Boston, and was much needed. Also, NYC is perfect this time of year, where fall is in the air but it’s not too cold yet! So beautiful.

Thursday / travel day
Starting strong, when I arrived Thursday night we hit Remedy Diner in the lower east side, a classic 24 hour diner that seemed to be busy at all hours, whenever I walked by this weekend.
Friday
On Friday, it rained most of the day but that didn’t stop us! We started with Cha Cha Matcha (would it be a LaJosette in NYC trip without?!) and then brunch at Maman. Both two of my favorites in the East Village. After, we popped into Casa Magazines, and they had an incredible selection of big and small magazines, it was so hard to decide which ones to take home! We spent the afternoon exploring and making our way over to the Whitney to escape the rain and see the new Edward Hopper exhibit which I absolutely loved… a deep dive into old New York and infrastructure! The Whitney has been a favorite museum of mine for a while, and I was happy to see my favorite Georgia O’Keefe painting again, which has been there since my first visit to NY!
That night, I went to dinner in Tribeca at Gran Morsi and enjoyed a delicious bowl of butternut squash agnolotti pasta with sage, and then met up with other friends who were also in town this weekend.
Saturday
Saturday was so perfect, with blue skies and no more rain!
We started at Tompkins Square Bagels, a classic that I have always wanted to try! As typical on the weekends, a line went out the door but it was so worth it— we both ordered lox bagels and they were everything we needed and more. When you come here, you must walk over to Tompkins Square Park to eat; it completes the experience! And the Tompkins people watching is great. Didn’t spot Timothee Chalamet but it’s ok maybe next time…
Since it was so nice out, we took advantage and headed to Central Park! Stopped at Ralph’s on the way for a little Upper East Side moment, and then set up a little picnic in the park to read, draw, people watch, and enjoy.
For the rest of the day, Sofi showed me her favorite *secret* vintage shops and we found the best stuff! I definitely did some damage- but couldn’y pass up the curated selection of tops, skirts, silk dresses… insane!
For Saturday night, I booked Lil’ Frankie’s which never disappoints. Amazing vibes, food, service, atmosphere, etc. Must order the classic spaghetti limone, bread & olives, and the calamari was delish as well! It’s usually impossible to get a res for weekends, so if you plan on going here I definitely recommend setting up notifications for Resy and checking the app or calling for any cancellations. Lil Frankie’s also has a less scene-y sister restaurant, Frank, with the same menu and usually easier to get into! P.S. both are cash only so come prepared…
Sunday / Travel day
Sunday morning began with Cha Cha Matcha and Intelligentsia in Nolita before heading back to Boston!
I had a lovely weekend trip and it felt so good to be back here. The energy and creative stimulation in NYC is unmatched. I will absulutely be living here in the future!
xoxo,
