Amsterdam

In May, I spent a fabulous five days in Amsterdam, and fell in love! We got so lucky with sunshine, and came just in time for the end of the tulip festival in Keukenhof, Holland. Every corner is so photogenic, the locals are kind and cool, and the city is super charming, walkable, and of course bike-friendly. I cannot say enough positive things about this trip- it was a favorite for sure!

I’ve rounded up my top spots we were sure not to miss during this week, but you truly cannot go wrong…

To do and see—

Canal tour- Booked the wine and cheese tour through GetyourGuide and loved it! We went during sunset which was perfect timing and beautiful.

Keukenhof- There is a bus that takes you to the tulip festival here! Go if you are visiting between March-May. It was overcast when we went in the morning, but so beautiful by the time we left and the sun came out.

Anne Frank House- A must see, definitely book in advance and set a timer for six weeks prior to your visit to secure tix.

Heineken Experience- Fun and interactive!

De 9 Straatjes (Nine Streets)- Amazing shopping, start at Huidenstraat and work your way around from there. So many vintage stores, boutiques, galleries, Dutch brands, interior decor, and cafes in this area! Very picturesque as well.

Vondel Park- This park is SO beautiful and peaceful, also loved walking around the surrounding area! Perfect for a picnic, afternoon stroll, or relaxing on a bench.

Rijks and/or Stedelijk Museum- We went to the Stedelijk Museum and I liked it- nice curation of modern and contemporary art!

De Jordaan- Great neighborhood with lots of chic cafes and curated shops.

De Pjip- Cool area with shopping and fun bars at night.

to eat—

D&A Hummus Bar in Jordaan- loved this for Mediterranean

Twee Prinsen- popular corner spot to sit outside in the sun and people watch all afternoon

Cafe Nieuw Amsterdam- all-day spot with gorgeous interior & terrace, we went for aperitif

The Pancake Bakery- Amsterdam’s oldest pancake restaurant, delish

Luuk’s Coffee

Bakkerij Wolf- Might be dramatic but this shakshuka may have been the best I’ve had…

Pluk- got coffee and matcha to-go here, the food menu looks amazing

Lagom- brunch + truffle fries!!!

Winkel 43- must try the apple pie they are known for

Soup Enzo- quick healthy lunch with a few locations around the city—we stopped here a few times throughout the trip, the menu rotates daily

Stroopwafels are a must try when visiting! There are many shops making them in the center. Also try the #1 Holland fries from Mannekenpis.

xoxo,
